One of the outstanding wine areas of South Africa is the famous Hemel en Aarde Valley. Or Heaven and Earth in Afrikaans. We’d never been, but were in the area for a few days this past August and decided to explore the place. Well, the descriptive name does justice to the place. It REALLY is quite stunning. The wine that can be found out there is also quite magical.
This image is the view that greets us as we entered the valley from Caledon. It’s a panorama merge of several images to give one a sense of the place’s awesomeness.
