Getting Stocked. Getting a duty-free wardrobe.

So, with no luggage and little possibility of getting it any time soon, I was faced with one of the following scenarios: spend a week on a barge with the clothes I was wearing and the spare part of underpants I absentmindedly put in my hand luggage, or get kitted out in Frankfurt’s duty-free shopping centre… Pretty simple really when the airline is paying you $100 per day for missing luggage.

There is a downside: the duty free shops aren’t like a regular shopping centre. Or perhaps it’s just that they aren’t made for shoppers like me. I suspect it’s the latter. Yes, I could have jeans. And for those interested parties, Hugo Boss jeans will run you a cool 100 Euros. But, did I mention the $100 per day? Well, as things look, the Hugo Boss jeans and underwear, Timberland tee shirts and shorts and Jack Wolfskin longs are looking like a bargain… All I can say is, Tonnerre had better have a male couture store! I’m feeling flush, and my clothes are dirty!!!

PS, if any of you baulk at the price of your airline tickets the next time you fly, I’d like to point out that at of writing, Lufthansa lost luggage department in Paris has hundreds of bags waiting for delivery. And those $100 per day claims have to get paid somehow…

Later edit: This turned out to be 8 days in total, giving me a legitimate claim to $800 for lost  luggage. Has to be paid for somehow I expect…
